Potential Fears Expressed by Retailers
More inconvenience.
Convenience actually can be improved with more one-way streets.
There will be fewer bottlenecks from Emergency Vehicles, SUVs,
large cars and delivery trucks trying to pass by each other
on roads that are too narrow to safely accommodate 2-way traffic
and parking.
It will be easier to briefly double-park in order to pick-up/drop-off/load.
It will be safer exiting from parked cars and there will be
fewer missing mirrors and scrapes since cars will not be passing
so closely.
More Cars Parking on Side Streets.
Actually, there will be more side street parking spaces for
residents.
One-way street patterns will discourage people from circling
to look for on-street spaces.
People going to more upscale stores are more willing to pay
for convenient parking.
